Nobody Else Showed Up For Work At The Nursing Home, But These Two Guys Didn't Quit
I'd like to think this would be a no-brainer for me. The fire department and sheriff showed up three days later to take over; this incident led to the California Residential Care for the Elderly Reform Act of 2014.
When these guys showed up for work, there was a sign on the door that said “Closed for business.” The problem was, there were 16 residents still living there, many with serious issues such as dementia. (I mean, really ... who just abandons people like that?!)
They stepped up like true heroes.
