“On some nights I still believe that a car with the gas needle on empty can run about fifty more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio.” — Hunter S. Thompson

“Music is the language of the spirit. It opens the secret of life bringing peace, abolishing strife.” ― Kahlil Gibran

Music is one of the few things that’ll uplift your soul in even the darkest moments. Good music, played at the right time, to the right set of ears can produce an ecstasy seldom found through legal means.

Everyone has a go-to song they throw on their mp3 player or turntable that can chase their blues away and put everything in proper perspective.

We asked our readers  “What’s a song that always cheers you up?” and received over 2,500 responses.

While the songs varied from pop hits of the day to classical, there were six artists who kept popping up as people’s favorites:

  • Stevie Wonder
  • Michael Jackson
  • Bruno Mars
  • The Beach Boys
  • The Beatles
  • Bob Marley

We took the responses and created a feel-good Spotify mix that’ll cheer anyone up on a bad day.
