Oh, that good old COLA (cost of living adjustment). What does it do to the money you make? If you’re employed locally, your cost of living probably balances out with the local pay scale.
But if you’re getting paid based on a pay scale in another state (or based on the national average) but living in a state that’s either far above or far below the $100 mark, it could be making a big difference in how flush you’re feeling.
