I looked up how much meat we eat, and in the U.S. per person per day, it’s about 12 ounces. Ahem, this is like, almost twice as much as we need (12 ounces of meat is about 84 grams of protein, and the average recommended daily intake is 46-56 grams). And as the infographic abovemakes clear, it really isn’t good for greenhouse gas emissions either! Theflip side is that if we each dropped one meat meal a week (most especially beef) and showed some blackbeans some love instead, we could do a lotta good.

Kids can innovate, create, and imagine in ways that are fresh and inspiring — when we "allow" them to do so, anyway. Despite the tendency for parents to freak out because their kids are spending more and more time with technology in schools, and the tendency for schools themselves to set extremely restrictive limits on the usage of such technology, there's a solid argument for letting them be free to imagine and then make it happen.

It's not a stretch to say the kids in this video are on the cutting edge. Some of the results he talks about in the video at the bottom are quite impressive.
