Do you know what you have to do to filibuster in the Senate? It's not that "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington" thing where they have to keep talking until they give up. All they have to do is say they are doing it, calling for something called a cloture motion, a.k.a. "the filibuster where we don't have to actually filibuster." Then no one can do anything. And all it would take to fix it would be to have Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid switch the rules back to requiring senators to actually keep talking to maintain a filibuster, like they did back in the day. When they gave up, the Senate could actually vote on things. Then we could actually get something done.Learn the facts, then take action so this never happens again.

It’s that time of year again, the holiday season is when we get the pleasure of spending way more time than we’re used to with our families. For those of us who’ve moved away from our immediate families, the holidays are a great time to reacquaint ourselves with old traditions and to realize that some of them may be a little strange.

Every family seems to have its own brand of weirdness. In fact, I wouldn’t trust anyone who says that their family is completely normal.
