Someone who has a camera in their phone could use a helping eye. Or two.

The Be My Eyes app is one of the most brilliant apps I’ve seen in recent times.

One of the most wonderful things about technology and the Internet is that people can try to experience the lives that others live daily, even for just a few minutes. It creates empathy in that process, and empathy helps us be more compassionate, respectful, and understanding of those whose lives may be entirely different from our own.

The Be My Eyes app not only helps people who are blind “see” when they need it most, it also helps those of us with sight understand some of the challenges that people who are blind have. Talk about putting yourself in somebody else’s shoes!

I am loading this app on my phone right now.
