Instead of having train times, the human rights organization Amnesty International displayed the names of people imprisoned because of their race, sexual orientation, religion, or political views; the date of their "departure" at the hands of state authorities; and destinations on their journey of injustice, torture, and denial of human rights.
Amnesty International told me the project cost nothing, and what's even better is that they did it on Mother's Day, when thousands of people were heading home to be with their families — they will be reminded just how lucky they are to be going home at all. As people texted to add their support for the campaign, their names appeared on the huge screens.
