This Is What It Looks Like When A City Fights For Its Schools
It's pretty fashionable these days to pooh-pooh public schools. It seems like a wide swath of foundation dollars, corporate interests, and a big segment of both of our major political parties is pushing for a wholesale privatization of our education system. There's only one problem: Nobody seems to have asked for input from any of the students, teachers, or communities affected by these decisions. Instead of waiting around for that invitation, they've decided to take matters into their own hands.
