When the straight guy says he thinks gay sex is gross, the gay guy's response is hard to argue with.
Get ready for some "awww" moments.
A group of 15 actors agreed to participate in a short film.
Their role was simple: Meet a gay person...
...and hug it out!
As you can imagine, this sort of thing wouldn't be easy for anyone who may have been taught their whole life that being gay is wrong, which isn't uncommon.
But that discomfort with the gay community is waning. A 2013 survey showed that 37% of Americans believe homosexuality is a sin, which is down from 44% in 2011.
There was some customary small talk.
Mostly around generalizations of gay people.
But eventually, everyone got in the (consensual) hugging spirit!
And like snowflakes, no two hugs were the same.
And afterward, there was this gem of a moment:
Here's what I love about this film:
It encourages people to challenge what they've long believed to be true — instead of cruising through the rest of their lives with clueless distaste for people they don't even know. And what we can get from that — heightened consciousness and capacity to care about other people — is something the world needs more of.
