A Guy Fell In Love With The Internet In Two Weeks. After Seeing His Story, I Kinda Did Too.
A couple weeks ago, we shared the story of a guy named Anthony Carbajal, who took the Ice Bucket Challenge. Part of what made his story special was the fact that his grandmother and mother both had ALS, and he'd recently found out he has it too. He explained how his life was going to change and what happens to people with ALS and asked for help to make sure there was a brighter future for those who followed him. It turns out his story resonated. Over 13 million people watched it on Upworthy. The organizations he spoke of raised millions of dollars, and now, thanks to people like you watching and sharing this, some astounding things are going to happen with that money. At 1:00, he talks specifically about the amazing things the money will be funding. At 1:41, I start to realize how friggin' huge an impact this is going to have on the entire ALS community, so much so that I want to bust out an Ellen dance. Oh speaking of which, Anthony's going to be on the season premiere of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," on Monday, Sept. 8, 2014. I'm not freaking out at all.
