Reese Witherspoon is the voice behind a powerful new PSA combating climate change.

She narrates the minute-long video seen below, which was produced by environmental group Conservation International and aired at the Momentum for Change Awards on Dec. 10, 2015, during the UN climate talks in Paris.

Her role as our "home" — as in, the world we all share — is making waves online.

The PSA serves as a commanding reminder that Earth might not need us, but we certainly need Earth.

With the entirety of humanity hanging in the balance, why aren't we prioritizing the protection of our planet?

It's a question Dr. M. Sanjayan, executive vice president of Conservation International, wanted to emphasize with the PSA.

"We wanted something that reminds everyone we have a shared planet," he told Mashable. "That everything we have, from our building materials, to our food, to the air we breathe and the water we drink — all of it comes from home. It's the earth itself reminding us."

The PSA, part of Conservation International's #INeedNature campaign, is just the latest video getting some A-list traction behind it.

Just last month, Liam Neeson took on the role of "ice" for the initiative, and other celebs — including Kevin Spacey, Julia Roberts, Lupita Nyong'o, and Harrison Ford — have supported the cause, too.

Witherspoon's PSA comes at a time when climate change has never been more of a hot (pardon the pun) topic.

World leaders just met up in Paris and decided on a historic agreement to slash carbon emissions around the globe. Business leaders and philanthropists, realizing how vital the issue is, are investing billions of dollars in clean energy.

And more and more citizens around the globe are supporting organizations, like the Natural Resources Defense Council, that demand our leaders make combating climate change a #1 priority.

With Witherspoon now on board, this movement might just be unstoppable.

A new video from Conservation International's extremely popular conservation campaign has just launched with Neeson's chilling voice representing "Ice." It's a theme among an impressive list of other actors, including Harrison "The Ocean" Ford and Kevin "Rainforest" Spacey. (Side note: I have never heard a more mellifluous tree than ol' Frank Underwood there.)

Why is he representing ice? It, like Neeson, has a particular set of skills.

Ice is mighty. Like many of the characters Neeson has been, glaciers might not move fast, but they can grind mountains into dust. They are implacable.

Sea ice also keeps the ocean cool — perhaps even as cool as Neeson's characters under pressure.

And mountain glaciers create lasting freshwater reservoirs for people to use, just like ... well, maybe there's not a connection there, but it sure is important.

"People living in arid climates near mountains often rely on glacial melt for their water for part of the year," says the National Snow and Ice Data Center.

In the Andes mountains, for example, glaciers provide drinking water, crop irrigation, and hydroelectric power during the region's dry season.

Ice even reflects sunlight and heat back out into space, helping to keep the entire planet cool.

But as the climate warms, ice is melting.

There have been signs — disintegrating glaciers, rising sea levels. Sea ice in the arctic has been disappearing at a rate of more than 11% per decade since 1979, according to the NSIDC, and the arctic could have ice-free summers by the middle of this century.

And Neeson is just not going to take it anymore.

Another organization, the League of Conservation Voters, is showing their support for the recently released Clean Power Plan, which will help limit carbon emissions and, hopefully, appease any and all anthropomorphic personifications of nature. Join in on celebrating the plan here.
