After you realize the 'hotness gap' exists, you'll realize Hollywood can't get enough of it.

There's no denying Hollywood is pretty screwed up, but this countdown points out just how icky it is when it comes to women.

In case you can't watch the video, here are the five most annoyingly sexist Hollywood tropes.

Wait. What's a trope?

Got it? OK, let's get on with the list.

5. The very obvious "hotness gap"

4. The woman in jeopardy

3. The female badass/automatic feminist icon

I'm all for female empowerment, but not every woman is a feminist, which is totally OK.

2. Super-crass "fat chicks"

And you can pretty much always expect them to be overly sexual and "freaky." There's nothing wrong with a lady owning her sexuality, but when the character is plus-size, why's it always gotta be framed like a gross joke? All ladies need love!

1. Punishing women

You've seen it time and time again: The hottest character gets killed last and her death is disturbingly sexual. This is especially true of horror films. You can almost always expect a long, drawn-out scene where the main character is running for what feels like an eternity filled with lingering body shots and a gruesome, torturous death. And gotta make sure she's in something skimpy!

*Side note: In this video, the "punishing women" trope includes a comment about "women being punished in films for no reason other than having vaginas," which leaves trans women out of the conversation. Not all women have vaginas, and having a vagina doesn't make you a woman. Genitals and gender identity are two very different things, so let's not confuse them.
