Try To Guess How Many People Have Quit Looking For Work Because There Are No Jobs
The U.S. government stopped counting those who have given up looking for work decades ago, which means unemployment is actually higher than reported. I have a few friends who stopped looking for work, but what shocked me in this graphic is the number of those under 55 and much younger who have just given up entirely because there are no jobs out there. It's like generations of people have no hope. Is this really a time to be cutting unemployment, welfare, and other assistance for those who are having a tough time getting work?
