A Shocking, Atrocious, And Little-Known Project Will Ruin The Lives Of Thousands If It Isn't Stopped
There's an island in Southeast Asia called Borneo. Heard of it? It's the third-largest island in the world. It's home to one of the oldest and most biodiverse rain forests in existence, with multiple endangered and endemic species and hundreds of new species identified in the past 20 years (including an unknown mammal called the Bornean red carnivore, the thought of which is probably gonna give me nightmares). Borneo is also the site of a proposed hydroelectric mega-dam. And that, my friends, is what the project below is all about. Don't miss the part at 2:00 where they talk about the film project itself.

FACT CHECK TIME! Here's some solid info our fact-checkers found:
- The proposed mega-dam on the island of Borneo would flood an area of 412 square kilometers. To put that in perspective, it's equivalent to about 77,000 football fields, or more than double the size of Washington, D.C.
- About 20,000 indigenous people would be displaced by the reservoir and would become refugees. Yep, 20,000.
