FACT CHECK TIME!
- Laci mentions that 27 states in America have abstinence-based education. It seems this has been updated, based on Guttmacher’s latest fact sheet as of October 2014 that says 25 states stress abstinence-based education (and that 12 states at least cover it). It further states “19 states require that instruction on the importance of engaging in sexual activity only within marriage be provided.”
- She also says that 12 states require medically accurate sex ed. As of October 2014, this Guttmacher list says it’s 13 states. But, I mean, this video is from 2013.
