1) Small beads, massive pollutant. Microbeads slip through sanitation filters and end up in the ocean.
2) Too small for sanitation systems to filter, microbeads pollute our oceans on the order of 300 tons per year. Thankfully, our federal government has set a plan to phase them out by 2017.
