6 Countries Walk Into An Infographic. 1 Can’t Walk Out Because It’s Too Fat And Socially Immobile.

Does greater incomeequality benefit everyone? At least in Europe and Japan it does. #USfacepalm

As an American, this infographic is disturbing for a few reasons:

  • I’m pretty competitive, so it bums me out to see the U.S. last in just about everything that matters, from teenage pregnancy and infant mortality to murder and prison population rates. No wonder our life expectancy sucks.
  • The “American Dream” of social mobility seems to be exactly that: a dream. Unless I move to Sweden.
  • We vote less, incarcerate more, and are poorer than every other country compared. C’mon, America — you’re better than that.
