There’s something every human can do to make sure consent is happening in all their sexy times.
Because so many of us misunderstand what consent is exactly, let me explain the concepts of the video below — which was inspired by an excellent post by Tumblr user RockstarDinosaurPiratePrincess — by using Kermit and a cup of tea.
Bear with me. And Kermit.
Let’s say you invite a friend over to your home, and you offer them a cup of tea. If they wanted it, they would say “yes.”
But if they said “no,” you wouldn’t make them tea.
You don’t have to be rude about it, Kermit.
And — this is the important part — if they said no to tea, would you brew it and try to make them drink it anyway?
Of course you wouldn’t. It’s the same with sex.
So remember this if you remember anything: Whether it’s tea or sex, consent is everything.
