- Infomercials and pharmaceutical commercials — Enter clueless mom. Of course she’s cooking. And of course, there’s that weird voiceover guy explaining everything in detail, and the pleasant piano music in the background.
- The way people in commercials cook pizza — They’re always smelling it like that! What’s with that? Do you do that? Am I the only one who just sets it on the oven to cool?
The stuff about vaccinations is satire.
What’s it satirizing?
- The anti-vaccine movement — By exaggerating the ideas behind this movement, you might see how absurd it is to not protect your kids (and other people’s kids — herd immunity FTW) from diseases that should be eradicated.
- Jenny McCarthy — Anyone notice that the clueless mom character resembles popular anti-vaccine celebrity Jenny McCarthy? We did!

So yeah, this fake commercial about a fake anti-vaxxer mom is made to be funny. But like the best funny things, its funny and kinda not funny at the same time. It goes from funny-haha to funny-oh-no pretty quickly.
This map isn’t a parody. It isn’t a satire.
It’s not an exaggeration, either.
These are preventable diseases that have resurfaced over the past few years because people have decided to say “no” to vaccinations (looking at you, USA) or weren’t able to access them. I dunno about you, but it makes me miss 2008.
