FACT CHECK TIME! Turns out, based on the most recent data, the average salary for U.S. teachers across all experience levels is closer to $46,000 per year, not $49,000. Also, according to a 2012 study, teachers work an average of 10-11 hours per day — less than the 12-16 indicated in the infographic above, but still way more than the average of 7.5 hours per day they are hired to work.
