Longline fishing is commonly referred to as “the curtain of death” because it catches and kills pretty much anything caught in its snare. This includes endangered sharks, dolphins, leatherback and loggerhead turtles, albatross, and countless other species unfortunate enough to live near a commercial longline fishing operation.
