On February 5, 2015, the Internet was buzzing with the news that Jennifer Lawrence posed nude with a snake for an issue of Vanity Fair.

This isn’t the first time in recent months the world’s been talking about J.Law and nude photos. If you remember back in late August 2014, anonymous hackers released intimate photos of several celebrities, mostly female, on the Internet. One of those celebrities was Jennifer Lawrence.


The big difference between the nude snake photo for Vanity Fair and the intimate photos is that J.Law consented to the magazine publishing her snake photo. She never consented to people passing along her other intimate photos.

And guess what? She spoke up. And she’s not ashamed any more. Here’s what she said about those photos last fall:
