This man took on running after a cancer diagnosis. He’s now a record holder.

A struggle between body and spirit.

Five years ago, Jim Willett’s life changed forever.

In 2010, he received a cancer diagnosis. This once happy and healthy adult was sent into a version of his life that he didn’t expect. So he ran.

He didn’t run away from the problem, but through it. He started by going through treatment, and then setting his sights on another type of running: ultra-long-distance.

Now he’s a record holder.

He’s run on five continents, including races in the Gobi Desert, Atacama Desert, Kalahari Desert, and Iceland. And he’s the current record holder for fastest completion time of the Bruce Trail, Canada’s oldest and longest footpath.

Folks — it’s 550 miles long. And he did it in 10 days, 13 hours, and 57 minutes.

That is motivation.

See what keeps Jim motivated in the video below.
