He Tried To Correct The Way She Supports Women. Her Response Is Great, But They’re Both Kinda Right.

Bam. Good points, both of you.

Actress Hayley Atwell is filming “Agent Carter,” a show based on her character from the “Captain America” movies.

She recently posted a picture from the set of their “badass female Camera Operator”:

Isn’t it great when women support other women in their industries?

But one person was not thrilled by her phrasing.

And, you know, fair point. He’s not the only one who feels that way.

Her response, however, is one Agent Carter would be proud of.

In case you haven’t heard, it’s 2014 and women are still making only 78 cents for every dollar men make doing the same job.

And those stats only get worse for women of color.

The best part of this conversation though?

THEY BOTH MAKE GREAT POINTS.

We shouldn’t have to call out a person’s gender when they’re doing a job that a person of any gender can do and do well…

…but at the same time, until women are just as likely to get a job in a (currently) predominantly male industry AND get paid equally for that job, it’s important to show people that women can and do hold those jobs.
