We’re all trying to raise our kids right. We want them to be good friends, good neighbors. They don’t seem to listen to what we say, but they notice what we do.

He’s going under bridges, to tent camps, to rough neighborhoods.

He wants his kids to see that you don’t have to have a lot to give.

He wants them to see that it’s the little things. Give a handshake. Say hello.

He knows they’ll see this and they’ll emulate it.

He has stuff to hand out to the homeless, but his real gift is for the rest of us. He’s showing his kids how to be givers, not takers. He’s raising them to love their neighbors.

He’s showing them the most important thing.
