You may have heard of TikTok creator @Sidneyraz, the guy who graciously shares the “things I wish I knew before I was in my 30s.” These things include all kinds of information, tips, tricks, and life hacks that are informative and, ultimately, make life easier once you know them.

While most of his life hacks are simple, domestic tricks for cleaning the house or preparing food, he also shares some financial advice and makes the personal admission that “not being hungover is better than being drunk.” That’s a lesson that a lot of us wish we learned sooner.

For many of us, we don’t learn certain skills or information until our third decade, which honestly makes sense. That’s the time when people begin to settle down with a significant other and naturally pick up more domestic skills that might not have been as relevant in our 20s and late teens.

The good news is that Raz is not going through this life change alone. He wants to share all of it with us and, honestly, we’re all a lot better for it. And though Raz has been at his mission for a while (he’s now 36 after all), and built a strong fanbase around it, there are a few tips he’s shared that remain timeless. The following 11 life hacks are some of his best:

1. Baking bacon is better than frying:

2. How to eat a flat chicken wing:

3. A tooth-brushing trick:

4. How to stop a pot from boiling over:

5. You can vacuum more than just your floor:

6. Did you know your dishwasher has a filter?

7. The weatherman isn’t saying what you think he’s saying:

8. How to fill a cooler:

9. The secret behind Chinese food containers:

10. Hire movers:

11. Not being hungover is better than being drunk:

Want more? You’re in luck: Raz gathered up these hacks and more and published his first book, Life Hacks, Tips and Tricks: And More Things I Didn’t Know Until I was in My 30s in 2024.
