Is Vegetarian Something You’d Never Try? These Numbers Might Change Your Mind.

Here are a lot of really terrific reasons to start being more adventurous when it comes to food.

I looked up how much meat we eat, and in the U.S. per person per day, it’s about 12 ounces. Ahem, this is like, almost twice as much as we need (12 ounces of meat is about 84 grams of protein, and the average recommended daily intake is 46-56 grams). And as the infographic abovemakes clear, it really isn’t good for greenhouse gas emissions either! Theflip side is that if we each dropped one meat meal a week (most especially beef) and showed some blackbeans some love instead, we could do a lotta good.
