The 5-minute trailer for 'Blue Planet II' just dropped. It has Radiohead and it's amazing.
If just the trailer for "Blue Planet II" is this good, I am going to lose my head when the actual show comes out.
The video opens with the dulcet British tones of Sir David Attenborough, which, you know, already makes it amazing. But as the camera zooms over the waves, Attenborough lets the viewer know this is going to be special.
"We've learned so much," says the naturalist. The original "Blue Planet" was amazing, but this is going to be something else altogether. "Take a deep breath," he commands.
And then the soundtrack hits — and oh my lord.
A cadre of strings, piano, and the voice of Thom Yorke, the lead singer of Radiohead, rushes in like a wave as some of the most beautiful images — and, I'm not being hyperbolic here, but every single one could be a painting — play out.
The song is a rework of the band's song "Bloom" off the album "King of Limbs." It was a special collaboration between the band and award-winning "Inception" and "Lion King" composer Hans Zimmer, made specifically for this series.
And we're not even to the dancing yeti crabs, dolphins, or mohawk-sporting fish yet — which, yes, you'll get to see.

"New science and new technology allow us to voyage further and deeper than ever before," Attenborough explains, promising to show us things we've never seen before.
The BBC's nature documentaries have consistently shown us some of the most amazing, beautiful, and heartbreaking sights on our planet, helping millions learn about our home and spurring them on to protect wild spaces. And if just the trailer is this good, I can't wait for the real thing.
The series does not have a release date yet, but the trailer promises 2018. Get pumped.
