President Donald J. Trump met with Russian president Vladimir Putin at the G20 Summit in Osaka, Japan, and when asked about Russian meddling by a reporter he jokingly, with a smirk on his face said, "Don't meddle in the election," while faux scolding the Russian president.
If you were a president who had been helped by the Russians would you act like that? We might play it a bit cooler.
