Lawrence Carter-Long

I’m obsessed with the arts, culture, and public policy — specifically as they relate to disability. I’m also addicted to radio, fond of whiskey, and every now and then, I show up on TV. I proudly identify as disabled (#SayTheWord) and was one of the founding performers in “Gimp” by choreographer Heidi Latsky from 2008-2011. In 2012, I curated and cohosted “The Projected Image: A History of Disability in Film” a monthlong festival on TCM that reached 87 million households. When not talking or writing about disability and pop culture, I’m the public affairs specialist for the National Council on Disability, an independent federal agency.
