The government has a plan for permanently evacuating every single person, but it’s still very sad. What’s inspiring, though, is what the government and people are doing to protect the area even though they won’t directly benefit in the end. As the narrator says, “Take note, bigger nations, because this is probably the most sad and noble thing any government has ever done.”
Kiribati’s leaders are being proactive about climate change because the people’s survival literally depends on action.
But we should all take that same approach because it’s the right thing to do. And also? We have a lot of coastal cities.
