State House Of Representatives To Female Legislator: Shut Up About Your Vagina

What are they going to call transvaginal ultrasounds now?

Yesterday, Representatives Lisa Brown and Barb Byrum were indefinitely banned from speaking in the Michigan House of Representatives. Why? Brown had the audacity to use the word “vagina” while discussing reproductive rights, and Byrum had the absolute gall to try to speak while being completely ignored. Oh, and don’t forget the biggest rationale permeating our government lately: if it’s a discussion about women’s rights, why listen to the women?

We all should — because they gave some amazing speeches against Michigan’s House Bill 5711, one of the nation’s worst anti-abortion bills.

And what’s the Internet doing to help, you ask?

Oh, you know. The usual.
