Remember your favorite toy from childhood? If it was something that adults use too — like a bulldozer, for example — you might associate the good memories of your toy when you see the real thing.

Some people use that kind of feeling to make something not-so-good seem much nicer in your mind. That's called the halo effect. If kids today grow up with the same fond memories we all have — but for an oil company — does that seem right to you?

Facts! From 1966 to 1999, Lego sold Shell-brand toys. They started up their partnership again in 2011, making cute toys with the Shell logo as Shell drills in the Arctic.
