A Kid Came Up To Her In The Hall And Told Her She Saved His Life. He Wasn’t The Only One In Tears.

Melinda Clark

At the beginning of November 2013, one of Upworthy’s curators shared a fantastic TEDx talk by Ash Beckham about having difficult conversations. According to Ash, the video had been out for about a month and had around 2,000 views when Upworthy got ahold of it. It now has over 8 million.

One of those views was by a kid who came up to Ash after a presentation and told her something incredibly moving. Ash was kind enough to share her story with us, and we wanted to share it with you because we think it’s pretty amazing that something as simple as sharing a video can change a life. Be prepared to get out the Kleenex around 4:20.

Hi there, internet friend. We need to talk. You're using a painfully old web browser, and frankly, it's getting a little weird. It's not safe, and we want the best for you. We think it's time to upgrade.

Download Google Chrome, and try it for a week. Don't think about it, just do it. You'll thank us later.
